Green Sky Adventure Green Sky Adventures, Inc. president, Gerald Olenik, was so impressed with the Micro Mong, that within three months, he and his brother formed Pyma Lake Aircraft Corp, purchased the Micro Mong design, and arranged exclusive marketing through Green Sky Adventures, Inc. Pla Corp. built the proof of plans aircraft, then built steel jigs and fixtures and organized many details for kit production. A plan to move the operation to Florida prior to establishing a dedicated production team commenced late in 1996. The following year, Green Sky Adventures, Inc., acquired the assets of Pla Corp. and the exodus to Florida began. HKS-700e 4 stroke power is perhaps the most exciting improvement to this great little plane. It's as if the engine was designed specifically for Micro Mong application. Each offered with the HKS 700E and also the new HKS Turbo, when avalible. The HKS is my favorite engine for these Aircraft. It is the engine that these aircraft were designed for. This year I made a flight to Oshkosh and back from my shop in California, about 2,400 miles each way in the Soaring Gull 2000, with the HKS engine on it. I cruised at a reduced speed to see how many miles per gallon I could get. I burned 1.6 gallons per hr and cruised at a 75 mile per hr giving me an overall average of 41.8 mpg on the way there and 40.08 on the return. With the 10 gallon tank it had a range that was much much longer than I could sit. The longest leg was 5.1 hrs on the trip but most of the legs were around 3 hrs. The HKS is a very reliable engine and requires almost no maintenance. It is really nice to make a trip like that and never have to do any thing to the engine, not even add oil. I normally fly my Odyssey 2 seater with the HKS 700E to the air shows and it averages 36 mpg at 90 mph. And that is with a full load and 2 people on some of the trips. Since the HKS has been offered it has been the leader in sales, way above any other engine that we offer. We also offer retrofit services of the HKS on aircraft that have engines such as 503, 447, 277, Hirth, Subaru, and many others.
